Project Goal
I worked with SUNY Enactus to create a brand new website for Northern Chautauqua Catholic School
Challenge
I had the opportunity to work with Northern Chautauqua Catholic School, a small private school located in Dunkirk NY to redesign their website. The goal was to keep all of the content and amount of pages the same while giving the site a fresher look. As I looked through the website, I noticed how hard it was to navigate with unorganized information. broken links, and pdfs that would not open in mobile. All information and text had to be kept the same and the challenge for this project was organizing a large amount of information in an easy to navigate and visually appealing way.
Before and After
One of the challenges was the site’s functionality on mobile devices. PDF’s would not show up on mobile meaning that visitors were unable to view schedules, menus, or important paperwork. On desktop, there was no way to preview them either. I also spaced out the information on the homepage to make it easier to read by organizing the information. I found that the most visited pages were lunch menus and schedules, so my goal was to make these as easy to find as usual and set up SEO so these pages would show up when searched on search engines.
